Introduction

The apartment is located in Berrilli street, in the heart of the ancient village of Calitri. This is the most quiet and characteristic of this fascinating country. The house is only a few hundred meters from the lively shops and eateries of the main street. Furnished in an essential way, '70s-'80s style, is brightly, airy and above all panoramic. It's ideal for families or couples looking for a totally independent and relaxing holiday, meditative and far from mass tourism. The atmosphere in Calitri, in particular in its historic center, is simply surreal. Rhythms, sights, sounds, smells and flavors, typical of Southern Italy and bequests to the hard work of the fields, softly envelop you in a serene and harmonious dimension.

The apartment was restructured after the earthquake of 1980. It consists of an entrance-living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.

Ideal for four people.

The entrance-living room is furnished with a comfortable sofa, a high mobile  and an old wooden chest.

The kitchen is perfect in efficiency, has the top in granite, is equipped with gas cooker, electrical oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, coffee pot, pots and dishes for four or more people, a table made of granite with six chairs. Adjacent to the kitchen there is a charming balcony, that is just below the clock of Berrilli Palace, which overlooks the rooftops of the old town, the hills and countryside of the  neighboring municipalities.

The master bedroom has a comfortable double bed, a large wardrobe, two bedside tables, a large mirror and a large chest of drawers. The window of this room looks out onto Del Re street and enjoys the same view of the balcony of the kitchen.

The other bedroom has two single beds, a small wardrobe style 800, a bedside table, a table and a window that looks out on the balcony of the kitchen and on the clock of the Berrilli Palace.

The bathroom is essential.  It is equipped with a sink, the toilets, a bathtub and a cabinet.

Linen, towels and cleaning at the end of the stay are included in the service. Another important equipment is the independent heating.

Looking outside and the historical city center

The entrance of the apartment is located in the square called in slang of Calitri "sott'a r'loggia" (that means "under the clock"), an open space where children can play without worrying about the cars.

Around Calitri there are some places that must be visited. These include Monticchio's lakes, the dam of Conza, Aquilonia and its interesting ethnographic museum, the small ski resort of Laceno's Lake, Melfi, with its wonderful castle and more.

How to get the apartment

by car:

GATEWAY RECCOMENDED Avellino est (55 min. from Calitri) Lacedonia (30 min. from Calitri) Contursi (40 min. from Calitri)

1) if coming from the A1, or from Naples, take the freeway Napoli - Bari (A16), exit to Avellino Est, turn left and follow the signs to A3 Salerno - Reggio Calabria and  1.2 km after take the highway 7 Ofantina following the signs for Lioni, Melfi and Calitri;

2) if coming from the A14, or from Bari, take the Napoli - Bari (A16), exit to Lacedonia. Follow the signs for Calitri; 

3) if coming from the South or from Salerno, exit to Contursi from A3 SA-RC, and follow the signs for Calitri Lioni and Melfi.

Once arrived to the village, proceed to the square of the town hall and park there. Proceed on foot through the arch and continue straight for less than 100m. At the fork take left for another 50m. Immediately after the arc you will be "Sott'a r'loggia".

By public transport: Get Calitri by train is not recommended. It's better to use the private bus. Click here to view the domestic routes made by the main local carrier

In general, to get Calitri by bus it must first get Avellino. From here use the usual carrier (click for info).

From Naples Capodichino: 300 meters from Terminal 1, there is a bus going to Avellino every hour (timetable - website)
